Figure and model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest addition to their “Bishoujo” series, a figure of Street Fighter character Chun-Li.
Chun-Li made her first appearance in fighting game “Street Fighter II”, one of the defining video games of the 1990s. Also notable for being the first playable female character in a fighting game, Chun-Li has gone on to become one of the most popular and iconic characters from the Street Fighter franchise.
The figure, based on an illustration by popular artist Shunya Yamashita, was designed by sculptor Masahiro Takahashi (GILL GILL), a previous contributor to the “Bishoujo” series. The figure depicts the powerful fighter in an imposing stance, wearing her blue traditional Chinese dress and preparing to unleash one of her trademark kicks. The first Street Fighter figure in the “Bishoujo” series, Chun-Li will be followed up with “Super Street Fighter II” character Cammy.
The 1/7th scale figure measures approximately 220 millimeters tall. It retails for 7,140 yen, and will be released in January 2014.
