On September 9th, jewelry and collectibles manufacturer Imperial Enterprises opened preorders for the One Piece Digital Archive, a wristwatch that displays one of 48 images every hour from anime and manga series One Piece. The officially licensed product is limited to 3,000 units and retails for 59,800 yen.
The watch uses an active matrix EPD screen, the same type utilized in Japanese electronic dictionaries, and comes in a fashionable unisex style. Every hour, the screen will display one of 48 images of One Piece characters, from the Straw Hat Pirates to popular characters such as Ace and Shanks.
The watch also includes additional features such as a 32-city world clock, solar powered charging, radio time synchronization, an automatic calendar, and a power saver mode. Wearers can also choose between one of five watch faces, making the watch suitable for any situation. The reverse side of the watch is etched with the One Piece logo and the edition number, and it comes packaged in a custom display box.
The watch is available through Imperial Enterprises’ online shop, Premico, as well as other retailers. Orders are scheduled to ship beginning in late October.
