Celebrate 25 Years of Sonic the Hedgehog with Sonic Fan Appreciation Festival 2016 at Tokyo Joypolis

Sonic Fan Appreciation Festival 2016



Special event Sonic Fan Appreciation Festival 2016, celebrating 25 years of Sonic the Hedgehog, will be held at indoor Odaiba, Tokyo amusement park Tokyo Joypolis on December 23rd.

The event is being held to thank fans of the Sega video game franchise, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in June 2016. The Joypolis main stage will host a talk show with Sonic series producer Takashi Iizuka and other developers, providing a look into the franchise’s history. A time attack competition will be held for Nintendo 3DS game Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, released in Japan on October 27th, and original merchandise and a theme menu will also be available.

Admission to Tokyo Joypolis is 800 yen for adults and 500 yen for high school students and younger.
