Created by Fujiko F. Fujio, legendary manga series Doraemon debuted in Shogakukan manga magazines in 1970, and went on to be made into a variety of comic and anime series, eventually becoming an iconic part of Japanese culture, both inside Japan and internationally.

The series has covered numerous themes, from science fiction to gag comedy, and has touched on topics including history, science, radio-controlled cars, and model trains, but in recent years, Doraemon has included a number of emotionally moving episodes. Thanks to the popularity of dramatic 1999 short film “Doraemon: Nobita’s the Night Before a Wedding”, recent Doraemon entries have moved towards this trend, including the most recent film, “Stand by Me Doraemon”.

To celebrate these emotional moments, Japanese figure and toy manufacturer Medicom Toy will be releasing a series of figures based on dramatic scenes from Doraemon. The upcoming figures will be part of Medicom Toy’s UDF (Ultra Detail Figure) series, which is already known to Doraemon fans due to its previous releases of high-quality Doraemon figures.

The four-figure lineup is based on scenes from “Goodbye, Doraemon”, “Fuko the Typhoon”, “Go to Dandelion Sky”, and “Doraemon Comes Back”. The touching figures will be released in late November 2015. Additional information is available at Medicom Toy’s official site.
