The Tales video game series will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a retrospective exhibition at Tokyo’s Akihabara UDX on August 7th through 23rd.
Since its inception in 1995, the Tales RPG series (known as the “Tales of” series in Japan) has shipped 16 million copies worldwide. The newest game, Tales of Berseria, is currently in development, and a 20th anniversary anime series is planned for release next year.
The upcoming event, titled “Tales of Museum”, will cover the series in its entirety, from 1995’s Tales of Phantasia to 2015’s Tales of Zestiria. Visitors can solve riddles while exploring the exhibition and listen to audio guides recorded in the voices of four series characters, and the exhibition’s gift shop will sell a wide variety of merchandise from the series, including a new line of Tales-themed Hello Kitty items.
Tickets are 1,800 yen in advance and 2,000 yen at the door. The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with admission times limited to one hour each.
