Manga artist Rumiko Takahashi is responsible for numerous smash hits, including her most recent work, “Rin-ne”, the anime adaptation of which is currently being broadcast on NHK-E. To celebrate the series’ recent premiere, a new merchandise series based on some of her most famous characters has been announced.

The merchandise series, known as the Rumic Collection (or “RumiColle”), features characters from Takahashi’s numerous series, including “Urusei Yatsura”, “Maison Ikkoku”, “Ranma 1/2”, “InuYasha”, and “Rin-ne”. The product lineup includes rubber cell phone charms depicting cutely deformed versions of Takahashi’s characters, as well as metal pins and transparent file folders printed with her artwork. The merchandise series’ retro logo, inspired by artwork from when Takahashi was starting her career in the ‘80s, was designed by up-and-coming illustrator and graphic designer Stereo Tennis.

The series is planned for release in July. It will be available at Animate stores across Japan, as well as the Animate and Movic online stores, among other sites. Secret alternate versions of the cell phone charms will be randomly inserted.
