Sci-Fi Thriller Anime Series “Boku Dake ga Inai Machi” Blu-Ray/DVD Release Announced
The series’ cast includes Shinnosuke Mitsushima as adult Satoru Fujinuma, Tao Tsuchiya as young Satoru, and Aoi Yuki as Kayo Hinazuki.
A Blu-Ray and DVD release has been announced for anime series “Boku Dake ga Inai Machi”, currently airing on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block.
“Boku Dake ga Inai Machi”, also known as “ERASED”, is based on Kei Sanbe’s manga series of the same name, currently serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace. The series tells the story of unsuccessful manga artist Satoru Fujinuma, who possesses an ability known as “Revival” that allows him to travel backwards in time to prevent fatal incidents, including a series of kidnappings and murders that occurred when he was a child.
The seven volumes of the manga series released to date have sold a total of 2.39 million copies, and the series has spread into other media, such as a Kadokawa-published E-book series. A live-action adaptation starring Tatsuya Fujiwara is also currently in production.
The anime series is directed by Tomohiko Ito, who got his start as assistant director on Madhouse’s “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and “Summer Wars”, then made his directorial debut with “Occult Academy”. The series’ screenwriting is handled by Taku Kishimoto, known for his work on “Bunny Drop” and “Silver Spoon”, with animation produced by A-1 Pictures.
The series’ Blu-Ray and DVD release will be split into two volumes, with episodes 1 through 6 being sold as the first volume and episodes 7 through 12 making up the second volume. Special features will include an original comic written by series creator Kei Sanbe and a soundtrack from series composer Yuki Kajiura, as well as the ability to play all episodes individually or straight through. Each Blu-Ray volume retails for 18,000 yen, while DVD volumes will sell for 15,000 yen each.
