Instant ramen company Acecook has released special edition noodle cups based on manga artist Rumiko Takahashi’s legendary series “Urusei Yatsura” and “Ranma 1/2”.

Produced in conjunction with Takahashi, the two varieties of ramen available include “Urusei Yatsura” soy sauce ramen and “Ranma 1/2” miso ramen. Both varieties are specialties of Takahashi’s hometown of Niigata, and include noodles made from Niigata-grown koshihikari rice.

Other cities in Niigata Prefecture are known for their own varieties of local ramen, including Sanjo’s curry ramen, Tsubame’s pork fat ramen, and Nagaoka’s ginger soy sauce ramen, all of which are available as instant ramen. “Urusei Yatsura” also lends itself to further ramen-themed promotions, with the series’ 122nd episode revolving around the topic.
