Hit Anime Series “The Heroic Legend of Arslan” Gets Second Season to Premiere in 2016
Season 2 of “The Heroic Legend of Arslan” is set for 2016.
A second season has been announced for hit anime series “The Heroic Legend of Arslan”, which just concluded airing its first season.
The anime series is based on Hiromu Arakawa’s manga adaptation of Yoshiki Tanaka’s light novel series. Set in Pars, a fantasy world modeled after historic Persia, the dramatic story follows the adventures of crown prince Arslan.
The first season, which finished airing in September, documented the hardships and growth of Arslan, and concluded with the Parsian army preparing to march on the Lusitania-held capital of Ecbatana. The season progressed up to the 14th volume of the manga series, which is the equivalent of the first four light novels. It is currently unknown if the second season will reach the 7th novel, which depicts the recapture of Ecbatana.
This is not the first time “The Heroic Legend of Arslan” has been released in anime format, with a series of OVAs produced in the 1990s with a different staff. However, the OVA series ended abruptly in the middle of the 5th novel, so the current anime adaptation based on Arakawa’s manga is covering new ground for the series. Buzz for the series has been growing recently, with the 16th novel by Tanaka due for release in the near future.
The second season of “The Heroic Legend of Arslan” will premiere in 2016. Additional information can be found at the series’ official site and Twitter account.
