“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” re-released on its 10th anniversary, with open-air cinema, café and other events
“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”
Mamoru Hosoda’s work “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” will be celebrating its 10th anniversary by July 15th, with various events including revival, open-air cinema and “Café: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time”.
Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku will be hosting revival from July 18th to 29th. It will be a digital cinema by DCP format, and also the first digital new master version directed by Hosoda to be released. 10th anniversary special portrait is also planned to be distributed (not for sale).
Shibuya Parco will be opening “Café: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” From July 7th to 8th. There will be various food menus based on Hosoda’s works, “Summer Wars”, “Wolf Children”, “The Boy and the Beast”. Original Illustrations and scenes will be displayed in the café as well. Official shop “Studio Chizu SHOP” will be opened during the same period.
Tokyo National Museum which appeared in the work will be holding an open-air cinema in July 15th and 16th. Hosoda himself and Masato Matsushima, curator of Tokyo National Museum will be having a panel session on the 15th, while special guests are to be on stage for the show on 16th. Special gallery event will also be held from July 15th to 31st, while a shop will be selling official items during the period.
