Madogatari Shaft 40th Anniversary Exhibition

Madogatari, an exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of animation studio Shaft, will be revised for a second engagement at Tokyo’s TEPIA Event Hall on September 22nd through 25th.

Legendary studio Shaft has produced countless popular anime series, including “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and the “Monogatari” series. The Madogatari exhibition attracted a total of 51,000 visitors to its four stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, and Nagoya.

The Tokyo encore will feature production documents from Shaft’s 2016 and 2017 slate of upcoming works, including “Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu” and “March Comes in like a Lion”. Exclusive world premieres of several Shaft productions will also be screened at the exhibition.

New merchandise will be on sale, including a book collecting everything on display at the exhibition’s four previous engagements. Also on display will be new artwork of “Monogatari” series character Shinobu Oshino by creator Nisio Isin, celebrating the character’s victory in a fan popularity vote held at the exhibition’s Nagoya stop.

Advance tickets to the Madogatari exhibition will be available for 2,000 yen, with a ticket and bonus gift package costing 4,000 yen. Advance sales will be available through Lawson Ticket via a lottery drawing starting on July 23rd and running until midnight on August 1st. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event for 2,200 yen.
