Ultra-J Project Uses Ultraman to Promote Local Japanese Industries
A new web site known as Ultra-J Project uses 50-year-old Japanese TV superhero Ultraman to promote local industries, locations, events, and other attractions.
The site, produced by Curation Japan in partnership with Ultraman creators Tsuburaya Productions, uses the popular character to draw attention to tourism destinations, local foods, and other highlights from Japan’s 47 prefectures. The site also sells a variety of Ultraman-themed traditional Japanese items.
In addition to posting new articles daily, the project also produces real-time updates via social media and video mediums. Through the use of world-famous character Ultraman, the project aims to raise awareness of Japanese attractions in advance of the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo.
