Abusive schoolgirl art series “Batou Shoujo”
On August 10th, Kadokawa ASCII Media Works will be collecting animator and artist mebae’s abusive schoolgirl illustration series “Batou Shoujo” as a book release.
“Batou Shoujo”, also known as “The Girl Who Verbally Abuses”, is a series of illustrations depicting a black-haired girl in a school uniform who rains down abuse and insults upon the viewer. The series has proven extremely popular on Japanese social media, eliciting empathetic responses from readers. The upcoming book will collect all of mebae’s “Batou Shoujo” illustrations to date, as well as out-of-print doujinshi releases “Batou Shoujo #1” and “Batou Shoujo #2”
The book retails for 920 yen, plus tax.

To accompany the first illustration, mebae Tweeted, “I wanted to be abused by a schoolgirl, so I drew it myself.”
The book pairs illustrations of Motoko with the unseen protagonist’s inner monologue.
