TV anime series “Berserk”, which started airing on Japanese TV this July, will be getting its own spinoff title in the Warriors video game series.

Based on the action-packed manga series by Kentaro Miura, “Berserk” tells the dark and violent story of lone mercenary Guts and his travels in a world full of swords, magic, and demons. The “Berserk” video game will be part of the Warriors franchise, known for original titles such as Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, as well as crossover games based on “Gundam”, “Fist of the North Star”, “The Heroic Legend of Arslan”, and other anime series.

The upcoming game will follow the manga series’ plot, starting at the Golden Age Arc and ending in the Hawk of the Millennium Empire Arc. The game will tell the story through real-time battles and 120 minutes of CGI cutscenes, creating an interactive “Berserk” movie.

The hack-and-slash gameplay will remain true to the Warriors series, with players controlling Guts, armed with a sword bigger than himself, and expanding to include the ability to manage additional characters in combat. The game format will also provide the opportunity to delve deeper into story aspects not seen in the recent anime series, a highlight for any “Berserk” fan.

The game, tentatively titled “Berserk”, will be released in Japan on October 27th.
