Starting July 18th, the Japan Post will be selling a special miniature figure of “Yotsuba&!” character Danboard constructed with boxes from their Yu-Pack domestic shipping service.

Cardboard box robot Danboard, from Kiyohiko Azuma’s manga series “Yotsuba&!”, has proven to be a popular character, resulting in figures and a wide range of other merchandise based on the character being sold, as well as Danboard appearing in photo collections, TV commercials, and movies.

The figure is being produced with the permission of production company Yotsuba Studio, and is based on the Revoltech Danboard produced by the studio and created by Kaiyodo. The figure is constructed with the trademark white Yu-Pack boxes, and includes moveable head, arm, and leg parts, as well as LED light-up eyes.

To celebrate the figure’s release, release events will be held at the Tokyo Chuo Post Office. Customers can encounter a costumed Yu-Pack Danboard on July 18th at 2:00 and 4:00 PM and the 19th through the 21st at 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Life-sized figures of Yu-Pack Danboard and Yotsuba in a Japan Post uniform will also be on display from July 18th through 31st.

The figure will be sold at the Tokyo Chuo, Shinjuku, Yokohama Center Kita Ekimae, Akihabara UDX Nai, Chiyoda Kasumigaseki, and Yokohama Chuo Post Offices, as well as the Japan Post Web Shop.
