“Shirohime Quest” (“Castle Princess Quest”), an art series started by monthly manga periodical Dengeki Daioh last October where famous castles are personified as beautiful girls, is being made into a smartphone game.

The art series, which will become novelized starting this summer, features one to three drawings being added per month by popular manga artists. The upcoming game based on the series casts the player as the lord of a castle, tasking them with raising, educating, and training one of the many Shirohime and taking them into battle against opponents. The game is expected to be the next hit resulting from Japan’s current anthropomorphication trend.

The game will be released for iOS and Android on the Gree mobile gaming platform. Pre-registrations for the game opened on May 27th. Players who sign up during the pre-registration campaign will receive the Ashikaga Shiyakata Shirohime, and can receive rewards for participating in a location-based promotional contest.
