A photo exhibition and scavenger hunt based on popular character Danboard from manga series “Yotsuba&!” are currently being held at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

Introduced in volume 5, chapter 28 of manga series “Yotsuba&!”, cardboard box robot Danboard quickly gained popularity, lending his likeness to figures, photo collections, and other merchandise, as well as making appearances in TV commercials and videos. The Danboard-themed photo exhibition and scavenger hunt are being held at the Sunshine60 Observatory and Sunshine Aquarium, respectively.

The photo exhibition features the work of American photographer Arielle Nadel, known for her Danboard-themed photo book, “365 Days of Danboard”. The exhibition contains over 300 photos of Danboard, including photos that did not appear in the book.

In addition to the photo exhibition, the observatory also features a photo area where guests can have their picture taken with a life-sized Danboard and Yotsuba, as well as the official “Yotsuba&! Shop”, selling limited edition merchandise based on the character. At the nearby aquarium, visitors can search the event space for well-hidden likenesses of Danboard.

The events are open at the observatory from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM, and at the aquarium from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on May 3rd through 5th). Admission to the events is free with paid admission to the observatory or aquarium. The events will run until May 6th.
