On April 6th, the moe characters of 12 cities and 16 organizations will be celebrated at the National Moe Character Festival 2014, in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture.

Presented by the Ogata shopping district’s promotional association, the event will take over the road passing in front of Ogata Station. The event includes characters from popular local promotions throughout Japan, including “Ogaki-kyun Monogatari” and “Chita Musume”. Also participating are “Akita Komachi”, a character used to promote rice; “Ryohoji”, from the “Moe Temples” initiative in Hachioji, Tokyo; and “Imaichi Moenai Musume”, created by the Kobe Shimbun newspaper.

The event will also include a talk show from voice actors Takeshi Kusao (Hanamichi Sakuragi from “Slam Dunk”) and Ai Nonaka (Kyoko Sakura from “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”), a contest where entrants can win the autographs of popular voice actors or other local moe character prizes, and a cosplay parade.

The event will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is free.
