The voices behind 22/7
Yasushi Akimoto-produced 2D digital idol group 22/7 has officially revealed the eight voice actresses selected to portray the group’s members.
The digital idol group was started by Aniplex in conjunction with Sony Music Records. The idols’ character designs were created by some of the biggest names in the anime industry, with each artist responsible for designing one of eight members. A series of open auditions narrowed down an entrant pool of 10,325 applicants to the final group selected to voice the idols.
The names and faces of the voice actresses chosen to portray the group’s eight characters were revealed through a series of broadcasts on streaming video site Showroom held on May 9th through 19th. The 22/7 official site has also been updated with artwork from illustrator Yukiko Horiguchi’s art series “Ano Hi no Kanojo-tachi”, currently serialized in manga periodical Newtype.
22/7’s third public live event will be held on June 24th.
